Toordal Recipe | Malvani Style Godi Dal

Toordal is nutritious and Loaded with protein. in Konkan, Toordal is made in coconut gravy. Toordal is a quick and easy dal recipe.

Toordal Recipe Malvani Style

Ingredients:
For Cook dal:
 1 cup Toordal
 1 Large Tomato
 4 Green Chillies
 1 tsp Salt
For Grind:
 1 cup Grated Coconut
 1 tsp Turmeric powder
For Tadka:
 1 Tbsp oil
 ½ Medium Onion
 1 tsp Mustard seeds
 1 tsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
 7 Curry leaves

Instructions:

Add Dal, tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder, salt and add 2 cups of water in a pressure cooker, mix well and cook for 3 whistles. keep aside.

Place a pan over medium flame and add oil in it. Add onions cumin seeds, curry leaves, mustard seeds, and asafoetida and fry them for 2-3 minutes.

Add dal mixture, stir well and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.

Add ground Coconut and cook on a medium flame for 3 to 5 minutes, while stirring occasionally.

Check for seasoning. Add more salt if necessary, Add coriander leaves and mix well.
Serve Hot.
