Ingredients:
For fish Marinate:
 500gm Sardine fish
 1 Tsp salt
For grind Masala:
  15 to 20 Dry red chillies (byadagi)
 1 lemon size Tamarind
 6 to 8 Garlic cloves
 1 inch Ginger
 1 inch cinnamon stick
 1 Tsp Cumin (Jeera)
 4 Cloves
 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
 8 to 10 Black pepper
 1 tsp Sugar
 2 tbsp Vinegar
For other ingredients:
 1 Tbsp Oil
 1 Medium onion
 1 Medium tomato
 1 Tsp salt
  1 Cup water
 5 to 7 Kokum (Sola)

Instructions:

You need to make an Ambot tik masala paste. Here is what you will need.

Grind all the ingredients for the masala paste, add water to adjust the consistency. Grind to a very smooth paste. keep aside

Clean and wash fish, marinate the fish with 1 tbsp salt. keep aside.

Heat vegetable oil in a pan and add sliced onions. Saute onions until soft.

Add ground masala paste stir well.

Add water to adjust the gravy consistency.

Add Salt as per taste.

Add Kokum(Sola).

let the gravy simmer for 10 minutes on a medium flame, stir and bring the curry to a boil.

Add salted fish and let fish cook on a low flame.
